Translation and Interpretation Support
NHS Shetland is committed to ensuring that everyone can access our services effectively. Communication support is available for patients in order for healthcare staff to provide patient-focused care.
This includes, where clinically indicated, translation into different languages and formats.
NHS Shetland is able to access a range of communication support including:
- on demand interpretation via phone in 240-plus languages, and by video for British Sign Language support
- scheduling an interpreter to virtually attend meetings and consultations
- written translations and alternative format documentation
