Joe Higgins was appointed to the Board as the Whistleblowing Champion in December 2022.
Joe graduated from Glasgow University in 1985 with a BSc with specialism in Mathematics. He spent 34 years working in the financial services sector in a variety of technical, research and operational roles. These included working for several years in the business processing outsourcing environment, with the associated contractual and commercial implications this involved, working across several sites, including both onshore (in Stirling, Reading and Belfast) and offshore in Mumbai.
Joe has lived experience of being a key Carer for his daughter, who enjoyed excellent care from a range of different NHS acute and primary services.He is keen on all sports, keeping fit and is a passionate gardener.
As the Whistleblowing Champion for the Board Joe is a member of the Staff Governance Committee and the Clinical Governance Committee and is also a Trustee of the Board’s Endowment Fund.
